Does not appear the book, or the DVD had been used. There was an inset in the packaging where it looked like something else should have been included, but no indication as to what on the box. So believe everything that should have been there was.The book is nice, but I have ordered this twice, from two different sellers, and both times received it without the DVD, which is what I wanted in the first place. That is even though the description says (Book and DVD) and so did the labels on both books I received. I don't know why this happened, but so far I still haven't managed to get the DVD I wanted.Good, clear, simple book. I bought it used as a gift and it did not have the DVD that was supposed to be included. I loaned my DVD to the person to whom I gave the book, but secondhand vendors need to be more careful about these book/media combinations.I whole heatedly agree with all of the positive ratings for this book. I've been playing guitar for 20-years, I play Martin guitars because I believe in quality as it pertains to music. This book is complete, concise and very user friendly. I have children and now, grandchildren to whom I'd like to pass along the gift of music but grandpa can be a bit impatient and overly articulate; this book is my lesson plan. It keeps me measured in my teaching, and allows my students to still get the basics and to learn good habits. Simply the best learning tool ever.This book covers every aspect of guitar and chord composition.Since finding the dvd for "Simply Guitar" at a yard sale, then finding out there was a book, I once again turned to Amazon for a missing part to complete the needed ensemble. The intention is for my daughter and I to learn how to play the guitar.Like a lot of other buyers, I received the book without the DVD. The is okay not great but it went back. I gave the seller a bad review because they must know these books are going out without DVDs.Received the package today and looked through the book. It looks easy enough to follow. However, when I purchased this, my decision to go with this particular item over another was because this was listed as a book and DVD....I only received the DVD.Product details. Book & DVD. (Hardcover). The so called book I received is not a Hardcover. It more resembles a flimsy A5 size pamphlet. Very disappointing. Go to AbeBooks and get a used, Smiply Guitar hardcover book with dvd for less than half this price. I got one in excellent condition for £2.99There is only 1 DVD with this itemNo CD and the spine binders damaged which ensured the book could not be opened.Good book but minimal chord diagrams.excellent book for beginners
